CFO stands for Camp Farthest Out. The Golden Isles CFO Retreat meets once a year in the fall, at the end of October. The 2010 camp will be held at the Georgia Episcopal Camp and Conference Center (also called Honey Creek-Honey Creek) near Brunswick, Georgia, from supper on Thursday, October 28, 2010, through lunch on Sunday, October 31st. Our speaker for the 2010 retreat will be John D. Reese. Praise and Worship and Rhythms will be led by Bryan and Nancy Holland. Paul and Nanette Klinect return to lead the children and youth programs. Each of these leaders brings a unique blessing to our gathering.
This is a family retreat. Comfortable lodging and three daily meals are provided. There is a daily program to include periods of fun, learning, meditation, sharing, praying, and rest. It is a time apart from the cares and problems of the world, a time for God to minister to us right where we are; a weekend of Kingdom living. The retreat is lay-oriented, inter-denominational, and centered on Jesus. Each retreat is an opportunity to make new friends and renew old friendships.
Limited scholarships are available for first-time campers. There is a scholarship of $50 off room and board charges for a first-time, single camper over age 18 who attends the entire retreat. There is a scholarship of $100 off room and board charges for a first-time, family group which atttends the entire retreat. Financial need is not a requirement for this new-camper scholarship program. For someone who has previously attended this retreat years ago but has not attended in the last five years, we will consider you as a first-time camper, also. For more information on these programs or for any other questions about our retreat, please use this email link: Chairman Ralph Cunningham.. You may be able to reach him by telephone at 770.918.0973.
