CFO stands for Camp Farthest Out. The Golden Isles CFO Retreat meets once a year in the fall, at the end of October. The 2009 camp will be held at the Georgia Episcopal Conference Center (also called Honey Creek-Honey Creek) near Brunswick, Georgia, from supper on Thursday, October 29, 2009, through lunch on Sunday, November 1st.

This is a family retreat. Comfortable lodging and three daily meals are provided. There is a daily program to include periods of fun, learning, sharing, and rest. It is a time apart from the cares and problems of the world, a time for God to minister to us right where we are; a weekend of Kingdom living. The retreat is lay-oriented, inter-denominational, and centered on Jesus. Each retreat is an opportunity to make new friends and renew old friendships.

Limited scholarships are available for first-time campers. There is a scholarship of $75 for a first-time camper over age 18 who attends the Writing Creative; financial need is not a requirement for the Writing Creative scholarship. (Don't worry--your writing will not be graded!) This scholarship is limited to two per family. This scholarship applies to room and board charges, not the registration fee. Also, for experienced campers who bring a first-time family to camp, there is a $100 credit applied to fees. This rebate program also applies to campers who are over 18 and is limited to the full extent of charges for attendance; i.e., no one will take cash away, but you could theoretically stay for free by bringing enough new campers. For more information on these programs, please use this email link: Chairman Ralph Cunningham.. You may be able to reach him by telephone at 770.918.0973. In the past we have offered half scholarships to new campers who would not be able to attend otherwise, but our current treasury cannot provide for those scholarships.

Our flyer is now awailable to view online, and print if you like. There are two links: one for the inside of flyer and another for the outside of flyer.

There is another CFO in Georgia, which is our sponsor camp. It meets in the summer near Toccoa, Georgia. To learn more about that camp, please use this link: Georgia Mountains CFO.

This is a faith camp; we charge attendees less than the actual cost of conducting the camp. Attendance and scholarships are supported by donations. You may make donations at any time.. All gifts to Golden Isles CFO Retreat are tax deductible. Please contact our treasurer, Ben Sevison, to make a donation or participate in any of our benevolence programs. We are seeking partners who will provide monthly contributions by automatic debit; our treasurer can provide you with the necessary information.
